Lucy takes a sick day

OK, just when I could see the light at the tunnel and my long Christmas break with the kids was almost over, Lucy came down with a slight fever and cough. I was hoping it was my imagination (the fever) but she woke up at about 3:00am this morning and sure enough, she was pretty darn hot. I don't ever use thermometers to measure body temperatures, I think my hand on her back and a kiss on the forehead give me a much more accurate reading. So, I'd guess she was about 101, nothing to get my undies in a bunch about, but still...I could see my relaxing Monday with Lizzy was not going to be as nice as I imagined. So Lucy and I had even more together time today. She was upstairs in her bedroom, very quiet for a very long time, so I thought maybe she'd gone back to sleep. Then Lizzy comes out of there, sobbing her "someone-hurt-my-feelings" cry. Well, Lucy was apparently in the middle of something very important.
She said, "I'm putting Missy down for a nap, and Lizzy is too loud. I sent her away." Like Missy needs any help getting herself to sleep. You can see Lucy was sharing two of her new favorite treasures, her cheetah pillow pet and her little stuffed Cheetah.

And to think this cat almost chose the house across the street from us instead of ours. I wanted to name her "Lucky" but I was outvoted. You can see in the background Lucy also has Cheetah slippers. The girl knows what she likes.

  1. So cute! We love cats at our house too. We're more like Fern than we might want to admit. Hope Lucy is feeling better.
