Phantom of the Opera

Last Friday, Matt and I were asked to sing some songs from Phantom of the Opera for the Stake Priest/Laurel Prom. The leaders had outdone themselves in the decorations and food, it was very cool and fun. We sang three songs, spread throughout the evening. I was a stress-case that I would crack out on the high notes or forget the words, or have to sing in my capris and T-shirt because up until 15 minutes before showtime I still had no dress. It was so fun to sing with my real life sweetheart. We did two songs as Christine and Raoul and one as Christine and Phantom. Not to brag or anything, but we rocked. We remembered all the lyrics and sounded pretty darn awesome. So yeah, I guess I'm bragging a little, but give me a break, I did wear the GDD (Giant Grape Dress). I'm not ungrateful, and without going on and on, let me just state my disclaimer that there are two huge petticoats under the GDD, one made out of canvas..yes, like tent material, and the other out of a heavy cotton twill. Both petticoats were too big and were overlapped. The dress was also too big and was pinned in the back. I love Matt's face in the Phantom ones, he's so intense. Did I mention that we rocked? We would consider hiring out if any rich people in Raleigh are thinking of throwing a Phantom of the Opera party. With a little notice, I could make a dress for myself and this time I'll wear a corset.

Aww, this is my fave.

  5. You all are so sweet for the comments. Liz, no there was no video that I know of. Kerri, it's not my real hair...it's one of those Jessica Simpson "Hairdo's" and I've only worn it twice. It's actually a shade too light for my hair, but you can't really tell unless you're behind and really looking closely.
