Busy busy!

Just wanted to update. The lesson went OK. It wasn't a total disaster, but the more I think about it after the fact the more I think it was pretty bad. I ran out of time too. They didn't even give me a five minute warning...suddenly it was time to end. Poor Lazarus never made it out of the tomb, and that was the best part. Oh, well. Thank goodness it isn't my normal calling. I'll stick with music callings, at least as long as I can.

We are so busy right now I feel like I'm losing my mind! Swim team practices have started up full-swing, but the boys are not done with baseball yet, so every night Matt and I are doubling up and taking the kids in all directions, and sometimes two isn't enough, we have to hire a sitter for the girls.

Another thing is I'm singing the Bach B Minor Mass again, with a smaller group in Durham. I'm so excited about it, I even have a solo..giddy-up! I have always wanted to sing by myself in Duke Chapel, and I'm almost getting the chance. I say "almost" because my solo is actually a duet with an alto. But at least I got something...which for a newcomer it's pretty good....the other sopranos that have solos and duets have been with the group for years. Anyway, I'm so excited but I was reminded at last night's rehearsal that I need to keep building my vocal stamina. It's a full hour of singing, and Bach is so difficult and involved, and I'm 1st soprano so it's a little high for me, but it's a good stretch so I'm thankful. Most of all, I just marvel over and over again at Bach...what a genius!

I also can't seem to get a rhythm going with exercising and eating decent, no matter how I try. But I won't get into that today, because even thinking about it makes me tired.
