I don't want too much time to pass before posting our July 4th pics. We had a great Independence Day. Most of our family and close friends were out of town this time, but we still had a wonderful day. A family in the ward sponsored a July 4th breakfast at the park, and it was a beautiful morning and a great start to our day (no pics, sorry!). Then we hurried back to our neighborhood and took a few pictures before heading to the parade. Then we spent the rest of the day at the pool, ate potluck at the pool where I brought burritos and potato salad (lately I can't seem to make stuff that actually go together). Later, we headed to an undisclosed location where we all pooled our illegally-purchased fireworks for a terrific display of various explosives. Basically, it was a fun day for all!

We had a yellow jacket nest somewhere nearby (found it later), so the girls were really freaking out in these pictures. Yes, I made the skirts, aren't they cute?

Later we went to the pool. We call this picture "Samuel the water-bender." The kids are on a major Avatar kick and watch an episode every day (the cartoon network shows can be watched via our Blue ray player via Netflix. I don't really understand how this works).

Another thumbs-up from Samuel.

Me and Samuel in the mustang. I felt bad I didn't get pictures of Matt driving in the parade...he looked very cool though, I assure you.

Mason has mastered his flips off the diving board, both front and back.

Take a good look at Lucy's cute long hair, because it's much shorter as of Wednesday. Pics to follow of that.

I'm a crummy photographer, plain and simple. Here's Samuel in the shadows. You can see some of our neighbors behind him.

Kind of a disturbing picture I know. But it wouldn't be our neighborhood parade without someone dressing a little controversially.

Cute Lizzy Kate.

So, Happy Belated Independence Day!!
