Dressing a rose

(Cute baby, I found her on google images and have no idea who she is).

Please don't be mad. And ignore this if you want. I'm not talking to any one person in particular, it's just based on observations I've seen on many blogs of family and friends.

This is a suggestion for all people west of the Rocky Mountains with beautiful baby girls. How you accessorize your baby girl every day is totally up to you, and none of anyone's business. While I'm not really into the flower headbands myself, I can see why people like them. They make the baby look all dressed up, and quite "fancy."

When you have a portrait session though, have the photographer take just one picture without the huge flower on her head. Just ONE picture to remember her beautiful little head, eyes, and hair (or bald head, that's OK!). Just one picture. Trust me, you'll thank me in 20 years, and so will your daughter. If not, that's OK, it's just one picture.

Again, it's totally none of my business. It's just a thought. But one worth considering. They're only babies once. Do you want to remember the baby, or the silk flower? In the words of my amazingly wise grandmother, "It doesn't take much to dress a rose."
