Anyway, I ran around all morning delivering the stuff, then Mom and Dad offered to pick up Lizzy from preschool so I could take a nap (THANK YOU!). However, I was just finishing some lunch when the school called, Mason was apparently not feeling well. I will give him credit, he looked pretty crummy when I picked him up, and he had had a little trouble with his stomach. Of course when he got home and got the TV on, he was fine. Whatever, it was actually kind of nice to spend a little time with him, then I hit the sack which was wonderful. I'm not a great napper but I was tired!
Then I got all prettied up and Matt and I went to our favorite French restaurant, Saint Jacques. The food was incredible, as was the atmosphere. Then it was off to the opening of the Les Miserables tour. Wow! What a wonderful show! I have seen it three times before, but this was by far the best of the best, as far as I am concerned. Valjean was absoutely unequivocally unmatched, the best of the best to play the role. Ever. Really, I have heard a lot of fabulous singers in my day, and I have never heard anything like his performance of "Bring Him Home." The Javert was great as well, but of course being from NC I am a huge Terrence Mann fan (the original Javert on Broadway). But his jumping off the bridge scene was incredible. The backdrops were based on Hugo's own paintings, but also thanks to computer animations, there was all this incredible movement and texture. At times it was so breathlessly realistic....Valjean was REALY dragging Marius through the sewers of Paris. I can't even describe it, it was amazing though. We then came home where my parents had been babysitting, and the kids were in bed asleep. What a fabulous time!
But all that aside, I have to admit that even more than the dinner and show and being fussed over and pampered, I am so thankful to have so much love in my life. My little boys are growing into wonderful men, and my girls are so beyond sweet. My parents are so close by and they love me, and give so much support to Matt and I and the kids. Then we can get on Skype and talk to Matt's amazing parents as well, and feel their love for us too.
I look around and realize that I'm part of a really small percentage of people in the world who get to experience this kind of love, every day of every year. So yes, Valentine's Day is really great but it's what goes on between February 15th until next February 13th that really matters. So this morning when I have that feeling of "another day another destiny," I can remember how incredibly lucky I am.

Wonderful post...I loved it.
