My new thing. Post very short blogs about one subject. So I wanted to share this cute picture of Lucy. She did her "Important American" project on Laura Ingalls Wilder. She was fabulous, and beautiful, and smart. We've almost finished the first book, and she's been totally mesmerized by it (as have I). So, I can safely say, she probably knew the most about her "person" than the other students. She did all the writing on her poster herself, pretty amazing if you ask me. She was also so proud to show off her real butter churn which actually belonged to her great great grandmother Lucy. How cool is that?
As a side note, I have to say I'm so incredibly grateful for her teacher, and the staff at her school. Lucy is just such a unique little girl, and I feel like her teacher really "gets" her and helps her so much. She is doing terrific in school, with only a little "hiccup" in behavior now and then. I love telling her that her name comes from the Latin word "Lux" meaning "light." She is truly a light in our family and I can't imagine how we'd ever find our way around this world without her.
