Happy Birthday, Matt!

Well, our big Daddy turned 36 yesterday! Sadly, he still looks about 28 in my opinion, making me look kind of like the cougar wife. Anyway, I think he had a good day after all. His presents were ordered online a little late, so he didn't have them yet, but I surprised him and got a sitter last night and went and watched his softball game. Talk about a surprise! Let's just say I haven't been exactly supportive, so when I told him that I was coming to the game with him, he about fainted! He played awesome and the team was really fun to watch, they are pretty darn good! No he doesn't really have a mustache, but I found this in the file from a couple of years ago and I thought it was time to bring it out again so Matt doesn't take himself too seriously. After the game, we went over to Chez Halverson where Anna had really outdone herself making AMAZING chocolate chip cookies AND our first ever "Tarte Tatin." (And maybe our last, I don't know if I would attempt it at home!) I downloaded this picture from the internet but I swear Anna's looked exactly like this. Yes, she's really that good! Anyway, Happy Birthday Matt and thanks again Anna and Ryan!

  1. I don't check blogs nearly enough. I hope Mattney had a great birthday. Those little things like watching his game go along way. One date night John came home and found me in cowboy boots, cowboy hat, and a western shirt ready to go for a horse ride. He loved, loved it until I started crying on the way down the mountain because I was afraid the horse was going to slip on the rocks. Anyway he loved it.

  2. 36? Where does the time go? I still remember him singing and dancing on stage at school. Never in a million years did I think we would ever get into our 30's, it seemed like such a lifetime away when we were in school. Weird!
    Happy birthday to Mattney.
