I can't believe Mason is 9!

Well, this is beyond late of course, but I realized I never posted pictures of Mason's birthday party. This is an "off year" for him, meaning he only had a family party and not a big friend party. He loved getting up and opening his presents the morning of his birthday. He got the Playmobil Viking set, which, as much as Matt hates the thing, it is worth its weight in gold. He and Samuel have spent hours playing with it, combining and doing battle with the pirate ship of course. Also, I found it interesting that because his birthday coincided with our pageant experience, I overheard the boys reinacting many scenes from the Book of Mormon, which really works since the playmobils' costumes could have come right out of the book of Alma or something.
Mason also finally got a really nice bike, and I've been so proud of him, he hasn't left it out in the yard once, such a responsible kid! He really loves getting off the bus and taking a ride around the neighborhood before starting his homework.
Now, it's also a happy coincidence that Mason's birthday is only days apart from a daughter of some church friends of ours. Mason and Audrey were actually baptized the same day last year, and this year, we had them over for cake and ice cream the Sunday after their birthdays. Mason really hates this, you can tell in the picture. I have kicked myself over and over for not getting a picture of Mason and Audrey on their baptism day, it would have looked so cute next to their picture of their temple marriage someday. ;)
