So, I thought we'd take a little break from vacation pictures so I could post some things I made in August. A friend from church just had a baby girl, so I was dying to make a little dress. I am afraid however, that it turned out too big for her to actually wear this summer, and it might be too small to wear next summer, but oh well...it was still really fun to sew for a little one again. I am nutso about dressing little girls in blue. I love pink, really I do, but sometimes it's just nice to take a little break from all the pink and purple. I found this fabric in my mom's stash and just had to steal some. It turned out super cute. I also love the little bloomers. Classy babies don't show their diapers in public. I bought the little flower trim in Spanish Fork, Utah at least 20 years ago, before I even knew how to sew. That's how much I love blue and white. I still have a ton of it left.
My next project was some coloring bags. Another mom at the pool had bought one similar to this at a craft boutique, and I loved the idea and had to copy it for my girls, mostly Lizzy. The girl can do some serious coloring. These bags made great use of some leftover fabric (hmmm...blue and white looks a little familiar...) I made these particular ones and donated them to a friend to sell to raise money for an outdoor theater. I have no idea if they sold or how much they went for. I've thought of making more and selling them on etsy, but decided against it for many reasons that I won't get into here.
I also made an AMAZING sundress for Lucy but I haven't taken her picture in it yet, I will do that soon. It is something else. OK, gotta go. Enjoy!
