Some belated birthday pictures!

OK, so here some more belated pictures of Samuel's birthday (November 11th). As always, it seems I missed some things with the camera that will be forever in my memory. The best and coolest thing was that MaryAnn happened to be here for Samuel's birthday, visiting from Utah. Did I capture this memory with the camera? Of course not. Ugh! Sorry Sis! Anyway, this first picture is my absolute favorite. I made a lego cake for Samuel, and thought it was OK, but he was so excited. A lego man (minifig) would have put him into orbit, but that's a job for a professional, so Kim if you're reading this, maybe next November??

Samuel got some playmobil things for his birthday, and notice that Mason is closeby, just as excited. I got some more "Egypt" things to go with the little Egyptians that Mason already had. They play with them constantly. See those jammies Lizzy is wearing? They're my absolute favorites. Just a side note.
This was an "off-year" meaning we just had a family party, no friend party, but since Samuel's birthday is always on Veteran's Day and there is no school, he had his buddy Spencer over to play.
I made a jacket for Samuel for his birthday. I know that sounds like it would be a big disappointment for a 6 year old, but Samuel was beyond thrilled and just loves it. I'm so enjoying these years because I'm sure it won't be long before they would rather die than wear something that was homemade. But for now Samuel wears his jacket about every day.

This was my first applique ever (well, not counting the Christmas stockings) and I thought it was so cute. The pattern calls it a "phantom" but we just call it a smiley blob.

No birthday would not be complete without a videogame. I think it's Lego Batman. We are still going along fine with the Playstation 2. Mason keeps insisting we NEED a Wii or Xbox or whatever, but I tell him he can rot his brain just fine with the system we have now.
So, here's a big shout out to Samuel, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY".......two months late. That's what he gets for being ten pounds.

  1. Rachel, what a wonderful recap, even without photographic evidence of the best parts! I'm cracking up at your comment about him being ten pounds.

The jacket is so cute. I'm also wondering if Lizzy's jammies are velour? Did you make them? I think Bailey (and therefore Jack) had a set of very similar jammies.
