Well, since we're posting birthdays....

Look at me, I'm on a roll! Poor, poor Lizzy. Common sense would suggest that if live through your first year in this family, you deserve something special. Lizzy-Kate is honestly the best child EVER. She's just a doll and we love her. But did we throw her a huge birthday bash at a fancy place with all of our fancy friends? Um, no...sorry about that. We did have a little cake and ice cream and Grandma and Grandpa came over. Posted here are the total pictures I have of the special event. But to quote Samuel's mantra they say in kindergarten, "you get what you get, you don't fuss a bit." So here, you go, take it or leave it. (Can you tell I'm in a mood?)

Here's the sweetest blue eyes on the messiest little face.
She always gets lots of help opening her presents. Lizzy's birthday is a week before Halloween, so that's why Lucy is sporting whiskers. She had just come from ballet, then was helping me cook (hence the apron).

We can all be grateful to Grandma for the cake. Really, I could have made the cake but who's going to turn down an offer for a little help? Plus, frosting and sprinkles are about as fancy as I get with decorating, so her coconut and little frosted cookies make this miles ahead what I would have done.
So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIZZY! (Three months late....and she wasn't even quite ten pounds at birth, itty bitty thing at 9 lbs 10 oz.)

  1. She is such a doll! Don't feel bad about a low-key birthday- I think they have fun no matter what.
